Journey to Entrepreneurship

The journey of entrepreneurship is truly like no other; it can be confusing and lonely, yet one of the most transformative and rewarding journeys simultaneously. It may take you three or four businesses before you find alignment within that, but recognizing the process of learning and growing along the way and that you wouldn’t be where you are without that journey is powerful.

Entrepreneurship is having a belief within yourself and faith in the path you’ve been given. Sometimes you are presented with opportunities that will feel totally left field, but it may be exactly what you need to get you there a little bit faster, without the roadblocks.

Entrepreneurship is about finding your people, the people who believe in you, who will cheer you on, teach you, and allow you to grow. My romantic relationships, working relationships, and friendships have all drastically changed since my entrepreneur journey, and with each step and leap, my circle continues to change, and that is okay. Some people are in your life for a season and a reason, and you can’t let that stop you or slow you down.

You must be very aware of who you are spending your time with, as I am sure you’ve heard the saying before; you are made up of the five people you spend most of your time with. Throughout entrepreneurship, it is essential to know that you can start over at any point and create a new identity, so allowing the shedding of the old and introduction of the new is vital.

Daily practices to stay top of your game

Keeping your mind, body, and spirit in tip-top shape is essential to perform at peak, be able to invest, and take action when opportunities come your way. Meditation is a great practice to incorporate as it calms the nervous system and allows you to ground and connect spiritually. Another daily must is incorporating nutritious meals and frequent exercise to keep the body fit and healthy to sustain the added stressors of life and entrepreneurship. Finally, to keep your mind sharp, you must constantly be learning. Reading, listening to audiobooks and podcasts are a few of my favorite ways to increase my knowledge base.

In saying that consuming knowledge will not get you any further ahead, the integration and application of that knowledge will push you further than imagined. It is essential to know this difference; the change comes from the integration.

Today over on the podcast, I shared a conversation with a fellow entrepreneur, Devin Butler, Founder/CEO of Arizona Entrepreneurs. We chatted about his journey to entrepreneurship and how he stays on top of his game throughout the day.
