Journey to Knowing Your Worth
The Awareness
Do you feel worthy? Or do you not feel worthy?
I spent a lot of my adult life not feeling worthy.
I remember the day I became aware of my unworthiness; a lady had asked me, “what do you find your worth in?” Of course, I was dumbfounded, and I had the most challenging time answering this question.
At the time, I was in a toxic marriage, so any sheer amount of self-worth I did have had been sucked out of me.
The lady and I had both looked at each other, fully recognizing that this was not good and that something would need to change.
The Reminder
Moving forward several years, I have found a new sense of worth within myself that can never be snatched from me, simply because my worth no longer comes from an outside source.
But, I want to share a story with you. A story that was a little reminder for me because as we grow, move, and level up in life and business, our sense of worthiness will also need to be adjusted.
Recently, I had my car towed. As I sat waiting to get my car back, my phone was about to die, so I found myself reading the billboard in the waiting area. As I read, it dawned on me that they, the tow company, don’t really have to do more simply by the size of the car, yet they charge one price for a small car and then double that price for a bigger vehicle. They literally don’t have to do anything differently; they’ve just decided I will charge more for larger vehicles.
As I continue to read, I recognize they charge $75 as a standby fee; again, no effort, they aren’t doing anything except standing by, and they charge $75 for that. Down further, I see a gate opening fee of $75; they press a button to open the gate.
So, hear me out, If a tow company knows their worth, for the love of God, I want you to know yours. If they can simply show up, I want you to show up. You don’t have to do anything; you don’t have to put out more effort, just show up.
If they can charge $75 to press a button and open a gate, I want you to know that you are worthy when people wish to access you. When somebody wants to go beyond the gate and access you, access your energy, and access your light, you are worthy. People don’t get to just come in for free. Know your worth. We can’t have a tow company showing us up.
Know Your Worth
I hope that this message lands for you.
If you are an entrepreneur, you need to be charging more. The right people are going to find worth in what you are offering. It will help you weed out the people that are not your ideal client, you’ll be more in alignment, more in your purpose, and things will come more accessible to you. I know it seems counterintuitive, but things will get easier for you if you raise your prices.
Everyone else who is not an entrepreneur, I hope that this message truly lands for you as well and that you find these moments in between the chaos of life, even if your car gets towed, that there is something significant that can come out of it.
I found something so significant out of my car getting towed; it wasn’t a coincidence at all, I needed the reminder, and I needed something straight in my face to tell me I’m worthy.
So, this is your reminder to know that you are worthy of giving the right people your time and energy, worthy of setting good boundaries, and of raising your prices. You are worthy without anything on the outside. You are worthy in the way that you show up in your fullness, in your authentic self.
I rise, You rise!
