Alignment in Adjusting
Last week on the Journey to Alignment podcast, I interviewed Dr. John Hickey, a great friend and Chiropractor based in Boise, Idaho.
It was such an incredible experience to have a divinely masculine man on the podcast who brought light to several healing modalities that he includes within his routines and rituals. Dr. John is a man who has done the work; he has worked through inner child healing, participates actively in therapy, self-care, and self-love, all of which have been a part of John's Journey to Alignment.
Dr. John is also a great example of someone who has taken his health and wellness into his own hands. He started advocating for himself after experiencing panic attacks as a college student.
John knew there was something he could do to better himself, and so he did.
It takes courage and strength to advocate for yourself and listen; you don't need to wait for a wake-up call. You don't need a life-altering thing to smack you in the face to start making a change.
You must stop lying to yourself. Stop faking it and get brutally honest. Start putting action behind your words and show up consistently for yourself and no one else but you.
This is when the change happens.
Create boundaries, go against the grain of your family, leave their expectations and listen instead to your gut and intuition. Learn things on your own, because you want to, and because it is aligned with you.
Step into your purpose, knowing this is what you wanted and not a dream others wanted for you.
Here is your permission slip to step outside of the expectations held over you, do it, and decide later. Stop waiting for the motivation, commit, do the thing and choose later if you want to continue. Take your journey in bite-size pieces, and then determine if you're going to continue.
Just do the dang thing, and stop wasting your time worrying about it.
All great leaders I know take quick action. Listen to more of @itsdoctorjohn insights on the Journey to Alignment podcast.
